The goal of an internship with ACM is to strengthen and challenge young adults in their walk with Jesus Christ and educate them on cross cultural missions and relationships. Every internship is different depending on the gifts and education of the individual. ACM is a community ministry, with many different opportunities, and interns are expected to join in wholeheartedly with everything before finding their own calling and passion in the midst of all that ACM is doing.

Living with the Mafus across the street from Grace Evangelical Church, provides time for reading, reflection, and Bible study creating the ideal time for personal growth. An Intern may learn something as basic as cooking and gardening, or things as complicated as irrigation systems or curriculum writing. The only qualification for an internship that we worry about is that you love the Lord, love other people, and you feel He might be calling you to Esikhawini, South Africa.

Covering Costs: In regards to finances for ACM interns, we believe the Lord loves to provide for his people when they follow his will. Interns may pay out of pocket, but we suggest raising financial support through fundraising, friends and family. ACM interns are required to raise monthly support to cover their costs. This money goes to the ministry as well as groceries, electricity, water, internet and other needs.

Isaiah’s passing.

Dear Friends,
We have some very sad news to report.

We received word late Wednesday evening (7/19/17) that our dear friend Isaiah passed away suddenly. Apparently, he collapsed after dinner and they rushed him to the clinic, but he did not regain consciousness. We are keeping in constant contact with Mercy. The best thing we can do right now is to pray for Mercy, the kids, each other and the wide net of friends that Isaiah touched throughout a life well-lived.

We can also praise our amazing God, who can take a young, willing, one-eyed shepherd from Ingwavuma and create a wonderful life of impact and joy that spans continents and forever changes thousands of lives for the better.

In Him,
Bill Hazelton
President, ACM US Board
